All British birds' nests and their eggs are protected from damage and destruction under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as amended. In addition, some birds have additional protection through their inclusion on Schedule One of the act which also makes it illegal to disturb these birds whilst building a nest and /or whilst incubating their eggs and rearing their young.
